Android One is a new concept created by Google for Android Systems. Initially it was announced just before Android Lollipop and it’s targeted at people bying their first smartphone. Android One smartphones will run a software close to stock Android version without the specific modifications by vendors. For Security Updates will take care Google to avoid problems.
By releasing cheap and powerful smartphones, Google intend to reach as many customer as possible, in Asia parts like India. Android One was something big since in the beggining due to its low price and direct Google support. Since they have Google support directly, Android One smartphones will receive the latest official Android version very soon. There are lot of marketers that will produce Android One smartphones, but their responsibility is only to manufacture the phone because Google makes a reference hardware design for Android One devices.
Developer have noticed that these devices has lot of potential and they begin developing steps like rooting, installing Custom Recovery, Custom ROMs and more. Android One devices get unofficially CyanogenMod 11 times before and now the CyanogenMod 12 is available for Android One devices. These devices will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop sonner but for those who can’t wait, CyanogenMod is a good choice to experience Lollipop features.
Thanks to a XDA Senior member called varun.chitre15, CyanogenMod can be installed on every Android One smartphone. He is offering a fully working port compactibile with every Android One device. The builds have been compiled on Leaseweb build boxes. To install CyanogenMod 12 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop you must have the bootloader unlocked and the latest Custom Recovery flashed on your phone.

This ROM is not stable to be used as daily driver. You may heard that CyanogenMod 12 project is still in works so there are some missing features because they are not merged on CM 12 yet. This build will be updated every week with the latest features and bug fixes.
How To Install CyanogenMod 12 on Android One Devices.
- Power off the phone.
- Boot into recovery.
- Wipe all data and cache.
- Flash zip file, link below.
- Flash Lollipop gapps zip.
- That’s all.
