As I was doing my dayliy research around the Android community to find what’s new, I discovered something that really worth sharing. A developer at the XDA forum named as androidexpert35 has customised Stamina Mode and brings a mod version with a few extra apps and other options included on it.
Stamina Mode is a battery saver feature presented by Sony on the latest Xperia devices. You may have not heard about Stamina Mode but probably you have heard about Ultra Power Saving Mode presented by Samsung on Galaxy S5. Stamina Mode is the same like it expect the fact it is used on Sony Xperia devices.
While for the Galaxy Ultra Power Saving Mode we haven’t heard to be ported on any other devices. Until now we have seen only a Ultra Power Saving Mode Launcher being available to download on other non-galaxy devices. While Stamina Mode not only is ported but also it is customised to include a few useful apps and options on it.
So if you ever wanted to have a battery saver feature on your Android device, I recommend to install Stamina Mode. Unfortunately it will not work on all devices. Only a few KitKat ROMs can have the chance to enjoy Modes Stamina Mode. This customized version of Ultra Stamina Mode is taken directly from Xperia Z3 and is modified to include the following apps and actions.
- Google Chrome
- Walkman fully working
- WiFi – you can use WiFi
- Application Settings
- Display Settings.
For now the developer has included only these apps and actions to the mod but if you would like to work hard and customize the Ultra Stamina Mode by yourself the developer has created a guide how to do it. Go here and learn how to customise Stamina Mode and add more apps to it. In case you don’t prefer to do a hard work to learn coding and to create such files, go ahead and installed the Mod Stamina Mode.
Note: I am not responsible if anything happens to your phone. Here at DoryLabs we only provide the guide but only you can decide to go further. So if you want to install Ultra Stamina Mode on KitKat ROMs do at your own risk.
Preparations
- Make Sure you have rooted your phone.
- Install a Custom Recovery on it like TWRP and CWM.

Install Ultra Stamina Mode With New Apps On KitKat ROMs.
- Turn off your phone.

my z2 went into a bootloop after i flashed the zip
You may not have followed the steps carefully. Did you wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache before flashing the ROM?
I tried to do it in my Z3 compact and now I have problems in both stamina mod or ultra stamina mode. I regreat I have done it and now I don’t know how to recover my normal features again since I haven’t make back up of my rom. Could you help me to solve this problem?
You will need the mod zip file and the official firmware of your Z3 also zip file. Open the mod with any unzip software and check the files that are inside the mod zip file. Then go and find the exact files in the firmware zip file. Copy this files from firmware file to mod file by replacing the old one.
Flash the mod into recovery and the problem should be fixed. You will have back the normal mode of Stamina Mode.
