What Is Safety Assistance & Emergency Mode – How To Activate & Use It

Emergency Mode allows you to extend your battery life while your device is in standby time. It’s a feature created by Samsung for its devices. When you are in a emergency situation this feature will be very helpful. It will not only conserve power to extend your battery life but the phone also will send an automatically message to someone pressing only one key.

Smartphones are become very useful for our lifes. They accompanied us in every step we made. Smartphones has becoe our life easier, they have a lot of features like maps, messaging, calling and many others. Without them our lifes will be meaningless. They have an important role, that’s why manufactures are trying to include lot of features on them so they can be even more smart and useful.

The Samsung tech giant has made something cool with its devices. Another feature called Safety Assistance is a smart move from Samsung. This feature is very useful when you are in an emergency situation. Only some high end devices has this feature like Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 4 and Note Edge. Some other devices like Galaxy S4 and Note 4 can have this feature only if you install a Custom ROM on it.

Safety Assistance is some kind of menu where are some options inside it. These features include Emergency Mode, Geo News and Send Help Messages. Emergency Mode is a feature that allows your phone to resereve battery as mush as possible, so it will last longer. When Emergency Mode is activated, the home screen will be changed to a black theme, so the battery consumption will be reduced.

Emergency mode block most of the apps who need a lot of battery usage and allows you to use only the most needed apps like calls, messages, contacts and few others. Geo News can give you information about several weather events based on your locations. You can turn them on or toogle on notification pop-ups that will notify you only when it’s important enough.

Help Messages are for sistuations  that are a bit more dangerous, but sometimes they can be very useful. You can send a message with a triple click to the home button to any contact you have registerd as primary, with an information idicating you are experiencing a emergency situation. Depended on you, the phone also can send pictures and sound recording, so the conatct will have a better indication of the problem.

How To Enable Safety Assistance, Emergency Mode, Geo News & Help Messages On Samsung Devices

  • Go to Settings > General > Safety Assistance.
  • Another option is to long press the Power Button and select the last option
  • You can see three options there: Emergency Mode, Geo News and Send Help Messages. Enable all three options.
  • Help Messages can be sent by pressing the Power Button three times. You can add at least one primary contact, so after pressing the power button three times the message will be sent directly to him
