Xiaomi Mi3 – CyanogenMod 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop (Download & Install)

CyanogenMod CM 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop finally is available for Xiaomi Mi3. It is an unofficial build that has all the features of Lollipop. Even though it’s not the official release, the ROM is pretty stable and it can be considered a great choice to be used as a daily driver. So if you like Android 5.0 Lollipop, give this ROM a try.

Xiaomi devices are becoming very popular since they has good specs and you can buy a good device with a lower price. This Chinese brand is a stronger competitor in the Android market. This company may have sold more devices than Samsung or even apple. Despite being so popular and with so much devices sold around the globe, for unknown reasons Xiaomi refused to release source codes for their devices, so for developers is a little difficult to create Custom ROMs for Xiaomi devices since they know not much information about the system of these devices.

The ROM is stable enough and it can be used as daily driver. Only few things doesn’t work on this ROM, like NFC and Bluetooth connectivity, USB-OTG and Camera. You can use a third-party camera app to make good photos and videos. Besides these everything else is working fine.   • A Custom Recovery installed.

How to install CM 12 – CyanogenMod Android 5.0 Lollipop on Xiaomi Mi3

  • Download the above files.
  • Put them somewhere on your phone where you can easily find them.
  • Turn off the phone.
  • Turn it on again but this time in Recovery. Do it by pressing Volume Up + Power Key.
  • Once the phone is in Recovery do a Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Format System.
  • Go back to main screen.
  • Flash the ROM.
  • Flash Gapps.
  • Reboot.
  • Enjoy!

That’s all. Wait for the phone to turn on. The first boot may last longer than normally, so it’s nothing to worry. Just sit back and relax. In a few minutes your phone will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
