How To Fix Galaxy S6 Deep Sleep & Battery Drain Issues

Have you bought a new Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge? Have you rooted it with CF Auto-Root tool? If you answered yes then you may have heard about Deep Sleep issue and Battery Drain. This problem is encountered only on those devices which are rooted with Auto-Root and TWRP Custom Recovery is installed.

To check if your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge is suffering from Deep Sleep issue you will need to install “3C CPU Manager”. It’s available on Play Store. Download and open the app. In the first tab (CPU) check the Up-time and the Sleep Time. If the Sleep Time shows “0” means that your phone is affected by Deep Sleep Issue.

In fact there are two method. If the first one does not work you can try the second. There are many Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users who have fixed the Deep Sleep and Battery Drain using the below methods. The first method doesn’t require a Custom Recovery while the second does.

First Method (No Custom Recovery) 

To begin you will need to:

  • Root your phone.
  • Install SuperSu.
  • Install Terminal Emulator App. Download from Play Store.

How To Fix Deep Sleep and Battery Drain Issue On Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge

  • Take your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge and open Terminal Emulator app.
  • Type “Su” .
  • It will ask you to Grant permissions.
  • Click Yes.
  • Copy and paste the following code:
mount -o rw,remount /system /system
mkdir /system/su.d
chmod 0700 /system/su.d
echo "#!/tmp-mksh/tmp-mksh" > /system/su.d/000000deepsleep
echo "echo 'temporary none' > /sys/class/scsi_disk/0:0:0:1/cache_type" >> 
chmod 0700 /system/su.d/000000deepsleep
  • Click Enter and Reboot your phone.
  • The fixes will be applied.

Second Method (Custom Recovery Installed)

  • Download Deep Sleep Galaxy S6 Fixes Zip file.
  • Put it into phone internal memory.
  • Turn off your phone.
  • Boot into Recovery.
  • Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache.
  • Install the zip file.
  • Reboot the phone.

You have successfully fixed the  Deep Sleep and Battery Drain issue on your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.
