Isopropyl Alcohol Can Fix a Water Damaged Phone By Bathing In It

It may happen that your phone can dropped into the water. To prevent it you must be very careful. But what will happen if your phone falls down into the water? Did you throw away your last phone because it dropped into the water and after you dry it, it still doesn’t work?

My father did the same thing. He was in the beach and he forgot his phone in the pocket. He went swimming along with the phone and after a while he noticed that the phone was inside his pocket. He quickly went out of the sea. Took his phone, removed the battery and let it to dry.

He tried a lot to fix it but nothing. Using a hair dryer was useless. No matter how hard he tried he couldn’t fix the phone. Next day he bought a new phone and called me to tell the story how his old phone was dead now. After he called me the first question I made to him was “Do you still have the old phone”?

Unfortunately he had thrown away the old phone because he thought it will never work. If this story sounds very familiar to you than probably you don’t know that Isopropyl alcohol can fix a water damaged phone. Simply by bathing the phone on it you can easily  fix a water damaged phone.

Well, you don’t need only to put the phone into alcohol. Also you have to dry it after. But how can you fix a water damaged phone simply by bathing it into alcohol? Read below cause I’m gonna cover a step by step guide what I personally do to fix a phone that has fallen down into the water.

If it ever happens to you that a phone drops into the water don’t try to turn it on. Immediately remove the battery and then dry the phone with a hair dryer. Leave it for a while and then soak all the board with Isopropyl alcohol. It will remove whatever it’s that is shorting out the main board.

After you did this, let the board soak for a couple of hours, or during the night in a sealed tupperware container, just to make sure alcohol will not evaporate. Dry it again with a hair dryer and you can put it on rise and leave for few hours.

Remove it from rice and then again use a hair dryer to make sure to remove all the dust. Resemble the phone and you are done.  It should work perfectly now.
