Update Xperia C4 & C4 Dual To Android 5.1 Lollipop [OTA Update]

Xperia C4 is a great 5.5 inch Android device released recently by the giant Japanese tech company. It is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop and has some good specs like a full HD screen, 2 GB RAM and a octa-core Mediatek processor.

Sony Xperia C4 and C4 dual were  supposed to be updated from Android 5.0 Lollipop directly to Android 6.0 Marshmallow skipping Android 5.1.

But it seems that before getting the Marshmallow update Sony decided to push up an Android 5.1 update for Xperia C4 and C4 Dual in the form of an OTA update.

Some users have noticed that they are getting a notification to update to Android 5.1.  This update is reported by users because Sony’s support page isn’t updated yet with any information about the Android 5.1 update for Xperia C4 and C4 Dual.

As I said before the update come in form of an OTA and the build number for Xperia C4 is 27.2.A.0.155 and for Xperia C4 Dual the build number is 27.2.B.0.155. This is the latest officially update until now but according to Sony the device will get the Marshmallow update soon.

Sony Xperia C4 Android 5.1 Update

From what is reported until now the update is available for all the variants of Xperia C4/C4 dual expects of E5343. Since there is not an update in Sony’s support page we don’t know what to say about the features and changes that Android 5.1 brings. Once the support page will get updated you can find a full changelog on there.

If you want to update your Xperia C4/C4 Dual to Android 5.1 but you haven’t noticed any notification on your phone try to go to Settings > About Phone > Software update because probably the update is waiting for your confirmation to be installed.

Since it’s and OTA update you don’t need to do anything, simply just tap on download and the update will be downloaded and installed automatically on your phone. It’s an OTA update and it won’t affect your personal stuff.
