The final build of Android Lollipop has a few days that arrived to few devices, but we already are looking forward to Android M. In this article you are going ti find everything we have heard and managed to find about Android M, including a possible release date and feature speculation. Once new rumors circulate we will continue to post about Android M.
Android M.What It Will Be Called?
We haven’t heard anything about how Android M will be called. It’s yet unknown if Android M will be simply a point upgrade or Android 6.0. The same thing happen even with Android Lollipop. We didn’t know anything how it will be called until it was official presented.
Google always surprise us, Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0 to 4.0.4), Jelly Bean (4.1 to 4.3.1) and the KitKat (4.4 to 4.4.4). So there were all 4x versions. And in the end Google announced Android Lollipop and went with 5.0. So we have to wait until Google will oficialy announce Android M to know what it will be called.
We have seen almost all Android versions named after sweat treats, and in alphabetical order. Until now we have had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop. Only the first two versions was named Android alpha and Beta and as we see all other version has a sweet name. Even Android M however it will be called, we all know it will be something tasty.
It’s sure that it will be something tasty but what the tasty treat will be is yet unknown. There are speculation that it will be called Android Marshmallow or Android Milkshake. The previous Android was named KitKat after the Nestle product simply because it liked KitKats. Maybe we will see another Nestle tie-up here.
There are some other potentials names like Android Malteser, Android Macaroon, Android Meringue Pie, Android Mint and Android Milk Dud. If you have any other suggestion feel free to share it with us.
Android M: Possible Release Date
About latest rumours we will see Android M at the end of October or early November 2015. But like the previous version Android Lollipop it may be announced at Google I/O in June. But there is nothing official, we still have to wait for the Next Generation of Android.
Android M: New Features
There are no concrete details available on what features will have Android M. But there are few things users would like to see, like Google Fit and Google Now Integration, an extreme power saving mode, improved performance, better synching of notificationnotifications s across devices, improved parental control and more features.
Android M: Spotted in the wild
Sightings of Android M were reported even before Android Lollipop announcement. At the Android Open Source Project developers have been spotted twice discussing Android M, firstly in regard to Logcat and secondly in regard to a data interchange format.
